General questions
What is HyperRing?
HyperRing is a stylish piece of tech jewelry that lets you make contactless payments with ease. The ring has embedded NFC chips (similar to your normal contactless credit card), enabling you to pay at contactless POS terminals without needing your smartphone or wallet. HyperRings are made of high-quality, scratch-resistant ceramic and metals, and are battery-free and waterproof.
Is it safe to pay with HyperRing?
Yes! Our HyperRings are certified by Visa and MasterCard, and are therefore subject to the highest security standards. When you connect a payment card to your HyperRing, a reference of the card is created, the reference has a different card number. This technology is called
tokenization, which is the same way that Apple Pay or Google Pay work.
How do I pay with HyperRing?
Simply tap your HyperRing within 3cm of a NFC enabled contactless terminal to complete your transaction - the same way you use Apple Pay or Google Pay.
For best results:
- Place the palm side of your hand (where you're wearing the ring) flat against the terminal
- Hold still for 1-3 seconds
- Keep the ring within 3cm of the contactless reader
How do I connect my payment card?
To set up your HyperRing, simply use the HyperRing Pay app to connect a payment card to your ring. Follow the instructions provided in the app.
The easiest way to make sure your cards work with HyperRing is to request a digital payment card from Curve. Once set up, you can link your existing cards to Curve and connect the Curve card to your HyperRing.
You can also check our list of supported banks to see if your existing payment card can be directly connected to HyperRing. Since only a limited number of banks are supported directly, most users end up choosing the Curve option.
What happens if my ring gets lost or stolen?
No worries! All you need to do is block your HyperRing from making further payments. You can use the HyperRing Pay app (iOS and android) to remove a payment card from your ring.
Here's what to do:
If You Have Your Phone Available:
- Open the HyperRing Pay app on your phone
- Navigate to your ring settings
- Select "Disconnect Ring" or "Remove Payment Card"
- Confirm disconnection
- As an additional security measure, contact your bank to inform them of the situation
You'll receive follow-up within 2 hours with next steps for ring replacement if needed.
If Your Phone is Also Lost or Stolen:
- Immediately contact your bank directly—call the number on the back of your card or your bank's emergency line
- Report both your phone and ring as lost/stolen to your bank
- Contact us at support@hyperring.co and we will escalate your case immediately for additional security steps
We take security seriously and will work with you to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
Payment card questions
Which payment cards can be connected to HyperRing?
All Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards are compatible with HyperRing when used through the Curve wallet. You can also check our list of supported banks to see if your payment card can be connected directly to HyperRing. For most users, the Curve wallet ends up being the easiest and most reliable option.
Where can I use my HyperRing?
You can use your HyperRing anywhere in the world, as long as the payment terminal accepts contactless payments. Just look for the contactless symbol (four curved lines) on the payment terminal.
Please note: Some terminals support tap-to-pay for cards and phones but may not recognize ring payments. This is a terminal limitation, not an issue with your HyperRing.
What happens when my payment card expires?
Don't worry. The card details of your new payment card will automatically be transferred to your HyperRing. You don't have to do anything.
What is Curve and how does it work?
Curve is a digital wallet that lets you link all your Visa and Mastercard cards in one place. Once you’ve set up your free virtual Curve card, you can connect it to your HyperRing. Any payment you make with your ring will then be charged to the card you’ve selected in the Curve app — and you can switch between cards anytime.
How to Use CURVE
Step 1: Download the Curve app, available for iOS and Android, and create an account. It´s free and only takes a minute to sign up.
Step 2: In the app, you would add the card you´d like to connect to Curve and to your HyperRing. It´s a safe and easy process. In a few days you will also get a physical Curve card sent to you - please don't activate that physical Curve card before you have activated your HyperRing.
Step 3: Once you have received your HyperRing, you can activate it, connect your Curve card, and you are ready to go!
See our Curve info page for more details.
